Caledonian RoadRigpa's third centre in London was bought in 1991.

1991

The new Caledonian Rd centre in London is bought and building work begins.

July 21 Sogyal Rinpoche leads a practice celebration on the the day of the birth of Guru Rinpoche.

July 29 Dodrupchen Rinpoche and Alak Zenkar Rinpoche consecrate the new centre.

October Kyabjé Sakya Trizin gives a Vajrakilaya empowerment. Nyoshul Khenpo and Khandro Damchö-la and Alak Zenkar Rinpoche are also present. His monks perform the sacred dances associated with the ritual at the Shaw Theatre.

October 19 Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche teaches on the Heart Sutra.

November 1991 - February, 1992 Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche gives a series of teachings on The Prayer of Kuntuzangpo.

1992

The Easter retreat is held in the new London centre. Alak Zenkar Rinpoche attends.

October The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - Sogyal Rinpoche’s Book Tour commences in London. The venues and audiences he teaches to show that he is reaching a new and wider public audience. The response is immense. The talk at the Royal Academy is followed by a huge crowd of people waiting to have their book signed. He also teaches at the London Lighthouse, St Christopher’s Hospice, Regents College and Nash House. There is considerable media interest—Sky make a documentary and there is a long article published in The Observer.

1993

January Drukchen Rinpoche and his father, Bairo Rinpoche teach in the London centre.

1994

September Drukchen Rinpoche returns to London to give a teaching on the Bodhisattva Warrior.

November Dzogchen Pönlop Rinpoche teaches for ten days on The Heart of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. A cycle of teachings he also gave in Lerab Ling, Salle Adyar in Paris, and Munich. These teachings are later published in Wild Awakening: The Heart of Mahamudra and Dzogchen by Shambhala Publications.

1995

April The Easter retreat is held in London from 8th to the 17th of April. Sogyal Rinpoche and Khamtrul Rinpoche attend.

May His Holiness Sakya Trizin and Jetsün Kushok Chimey Luding visit Rigpa London. Teachings on Parting from the Four Attachments are given, as well as a Vajrakilaya empowerment.

July Penor Rinpoche taught on View, Meditation and Action and gave an empowerment of Padmasambhava.

1996

March Khenpo Petse gives teachings on the The Thirty-Seven Practices of All the Bodhisattvas and Longchen Nyingtik Ngöndro in the London centre. He attends the Easter retreat, called The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying at Millfield school with Dzogchen Rinpoche and Sogyal Rinpoche.

June Ringu Tulku Rinpoche gives a series of teachings in London on Madhyamaka and meditation.

1997

June Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche teaches on shamatha and vipashyana and the The Thirty-Seven Practices of All the Bodhisattvas.

July Khenpo Petse teaches on the Essence of Sutra and Tantra.

Sogyal Rinpoche, Dzogchen Rinpoche, Tulku Pegyal Rinpoche and Khenpo Petse Rinpoche lead a series of city retreats in London, Paris and Amsterdam. Tulku Pegyal Rinpoche gives an empowerment of the Hundred peaceful and wrathful deities in London and Amsterdam.

1998

May Ringu Tulku continues his cycle of teaching on the Bodhicaryavatara.

October Chagdud Khandro gives a weekend teaching on phowa.

December Dzogchen Rinpoche visits London to teach on the The Thirty-Seven Practices of All the Bodhisattvas. He continues this cycle of teaching during a ten-day visit to Dzogchen Beara later in the same month and in January 1999 in Paris, in Lerab Ling, in the Myall Lakes retreat in Australia and at the San Francisco Rigpa.

1999

February Chagdud Khandro returns to London to teach on Phowa.

June Tsoknyi Rinpoche teaches in London on Buddha nature and the View of Meditation.
