The dagam (Tib. ཟླ་གམ་, Wyl. zla gam) is a cape worn in practice assemblies. The literal meaning of dagam is 'half-moon', and is a reference to the fact that the cape forms a half-circle shape when worn. It is one of the robes of Guru Rinpoche, and as such, wearing it together with the Lotus Hat which are both unique to Guru Rinpoche, at key points of group practice, such as invocation of the wisdom deities, helps us assuming being Guru Rinpoche.
