Dark kalpa

A dark kalpa (Tib. བསྐལ་པ་ངན་པ, Wyl. bskal pa ngan pa) is a kalpa during which no perfect Buddha appears to teach sentient beings. A kalpa during which a buddha does appear is called a 'bright kalpa'.
