Devadatta (Skt.; Tib. ལྷས་བྱིན་, Wyl. lhas byin) — Buddha's jealous scheming cousin. He was also the instigator of the first schism in the Buddhist monastic community by imposing more severe monastic rules on the community. Also Ananda's brother.
