Serlingpa - literally, 'the master from the Golden Isle', i.e., Suvarnadvipa, which is possibly Sumatra. His actual name is given variously as Dharmapala or Dharmakirti. He was the most important teacher of Atisha who stayed with him for twelve years receiving teachings on Lojong. He wrote two texts on the Bodhicharyavatara summarizing its main points.
