The Eight Lords of Physicians (Wyl. sman bla brgyad) aka Eight Sugatas who are Lords of Physicians (Wyl. sman bla bde gshegs brgyad) aka Eight Sugata-Brothers who are Lords of Physicians (Wyl. sman bla bde gshegs mched brgyad) aka Eight Brothers who are Lords of Physicians (Wyl. sman bla mched brgyad) — a set of Eight ‘Medicine Buddhas’ appearing in two Kriya Tantra texts[1]. They are:

  1. Shakyamuni (Skt. Śākyamuni; Wyl. shAkya thub pa)
  2. Lord of Physicians, Radiant Lapis Lazuli King aka the 'Buddha of Medicine' (Skt. Bhaiṣajyaguru-Vaiḍūryaprabhārāja; Wyl. sman gyi bla bai dū rya’i ’od kyi rgyal po)
  3. King of Insight, Playful Dharma Ocean of Higher Knowledge (Skt. Dharmasāgarāgramativikrīḍitābhijñārāja; Wyl. chos rgya mtsho mchog gi blos rnam par rol bar mngon par mkhyen pa’i rgyal po)
  4. Dharma Expounding Melodious Ocean (Skt. Dharmakīrtisāgaraghoṣa; Wyl. chos sgrags rgya mtsho’i dbyang)
  5. Sorrowless Eminent Splendour (Skt. Aśokottamaśrī; Wyl. mya ngan med mchog dpal)
  6. Flawless Pure Gold, Jewel Light, Master of Courageous Conduct (Skt. Suvarṇabhadravimalaratnaprabhāsavrata; Wyl. gser bzang dri med rin chen snang brtul zhugs pa)
  7. Jewel, Moon and Lotus Adorned King of Intelligence, Brilliance and Eloquence (Skt. Ratnacandrapadmapratimaṇḍitapaṇḍitatejasvaraghoṣarāja; Wyl. rin po che dang zla ba dang padmas rab tu brgyan pa mkhas pa gzi brjid sgra dbyangs kyi rgyal po)
  8. Renowned King of Splendour (Skt. Suparikīrtitanāmaśrīrāja; Wyl. mtshan legs yongs grags dpal gyi rgyal po)
