Eight outer offerings or eight traditional offerings (Tib. མཆོད་པ་བརྒྱད་, Wyl. mchod pa brgyad) —

  1. water for drinking (Skt. argha; Tib. མཆོད་ཡོན་, Wyl. mchod yon)
  2. water for cleansing the hands and the feet (Skt. pādya; Tib. ཞབས་བསིལ་, Wyl. zhabs bsil)
  3. flowers (Skt. puṣpa; Tib. མེ་ཏོག, Wyl. me tog)
  4. incense (Skt. dhūpa; Tib. བདུག་སྤོས་, Wyl. bdug spos)
  5. a lamp/light (Skt. āloka; Tib. མར་མེ་, Wyl. mar me)
  6. perfumed/scented water (Skt. gandha; Tib. དྲི་ཆབ་, Wyl. dri chab)
  7. food (Skt. naivedya; Tib. ཞལ་ཟས་, Wyl. zhal zas)
  8. music/sound (Skt. śabda; Tib. རོལ་མོ་, Wyl. rol mo)
