Four types of condition

The four types of condition (Skt. pratayaya; Tib. རྐྱེན་བཞི་, Wyl. rkyen bzhi) are

  1. causal condition (hetupratyaya; རྒྱུའི་རྐྱེན་, rgyu'i rkyen)
  2. immediate condition (samanantarapratyaya; དེ་མ་ཐག་རྐྱེན་, de ma thag rkyen)
  3. objective condition (ālamabanapratyaya; དམིགས་རྐྱེན་, dmigs rkyen)
  4. dominant condition (adhipatipratyaya; བདག་རྐྱེན་, bdag rkyen)
