Golok landscape

Golok (Tib. མགོ་ལོག, Wyl. mgo log) is an area of East Tibet, near the upper reaches of the Yellow River (Ma Chu in Tibetan, Huang He in Chinese), in present-day Qinghai Province.

Divisions

Until the 1950s, Golok was mainly divided into three main districts: Akyong Bum, Wangchen Bum and Padma Bum, to which were culturally added other areas, like Serta, Dzachuka. Nowaways, the historical Golok region has been divided in the following way:[1]
