Lhopa Kunkhyen Rinchen Pal (Wyl. lho pa kun mkhyen rin chen dpal) was a direct student of Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen (1182-1251), from whom he received detailed teachings on the Bodhicharyavatara. He wrote his commentary on the Bodhicharyavatara as a synopsis (zin bris) of the teachings he had received from Sakya Pandita.
