It seems unlikely the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje was his teacher, it says on treasury of lives he was his student. edit: oops sorry, it seems he was also he teacher. But maybe we can still change it to both teacher and student.

I didn’t encounter any mention of Rigdzin Kumaradza being a student of the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje neither at Nyoshul Khenpo’s “A Marvelous Garland of Rare Gems: Biographies of Masters of Awareness in the Dzogchen Lineage” nor at Dudjom Rinpoche’s “The Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, Its Fundamentals and History”.
My understanding is that Rigdzin Kumaradza was a student of Melong Dorje and one of the main teachers of the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje and Longchenpa.
What is the source for affirming that Rigdzin Kumaradza was a student of the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje?
