The Dwelling Place of Manjushri
The Dwelling Place of Manjushri (Skt. Mañjuśrīvihāra; Tib. འཇམ་དཔལ་གནས་པ།, Wyl. ‘jam dpal gnas pa) first presents a dialogue between Manjushri and Shariputra regarding the activity of “dwelling” (vihāra) during meditation, the nature of dharmas, and the “true nature” (tathatā). This opens into a conversation between Manjushri and a large gathering of monks whereby Manjushri corrects the monks’ misinterpretations. Manjushri then instructs Shariputra on the enduring and indestructible nature of the realm of sentient beings and the realm of reality. Finally, the power of Manjushri’s teaching is explained and reiterated by the Buddha.
