Dakini (Skt. ḍākinī; Tib. khandroma; Wyl. mkha' 'gro ma) — a female embodiment of enlightened energy. Literally, ‘khandro’ means ‘sky-goer’, and it indicates moving in the sky of the expanse of wisdom. The spiritual wives of lamas are often called khandro, as are female lamas.
