Dürtro Lhamo, 'Goddess of the Charnel Ground', is considered in the Nyingma tradition to be a protectress of sacred places, and particularly of the property of temples, monasteries and hermitages. She also protects the terma teachings, the tertöns who discover them, and those who practise them.

Iconographically she is usually depicted as red in colour, in standing form, holding a hook in her right hand and a mirror in her left, and appears in the Longchen Nyingtik Refuge Field along with other protectors.
