The eight kinds of precious substances (Wyl. rin po che sna brgyad) eight caskets of are:

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Iron
  • Copper
  • Turquoise
  • Rhinoceros horn
  • Agate
  • gzi-stone

They are the eight precious substances that made the eight caskets containing the Kagye cycles hidden in the Shankarakuta stupa.
