Karmic obscurations (Tib. ལས་ཀྱི་སྒྲིབ་པ་, Wyl. las kyi sgrib pa) include naturally negative actions and infringements of vows. Naturally negative actions block or 'obscure' the temporary attainment of the higher realms. Infringements of vows block the temporary attainment of the higher realms and the ultimate attainment of the three kinds of enlightenment.
