Nyen Yik (Wyl. bsnyen yig) is a retreat instruction text or Sadhana manual. Nyen Yik gives a practitioner all the information and instructions necessary to carry out traditional and strict personal retreat[1].

Nyen Yig covers many points such as how to arrange the altar, prepare the retreat house, how to carry out the practice on a daily basis, the duration of each phase of the practice, how to conclude the retreat and what signs might occur.
