Don’t seek to cut the root of phenomena:
Don’t seek to cut the root of phenomena:
Cut the root of mind.
If you cut the root of the mind,
You’ll know one thing which resolves all.
If you don’t cut the root of the mind,
You can know everything, but be forever stuck on one.
Cut the root of mind.
Don’t investigate the roots of things,
Investigate the root of mind!
If you cut the root of the mind,
Once the mind’s root has been found,
You’ll know one thing, yet all is thereby freed,
You’ll know one thing which resolves all.
But if the root of mind you fail to find,
You will know everything, but nothing understand.
If you don’t cut the root of the mind,

You can know everything, but be forever stuck on one.

Don’t investigate the roots of things,

Investigate the root of mind!

Once the mind’s root has been found,

You’ll know one thing, yet all is thereby freed,

But if the root of mind you fail to find,

You will know everything, but nothing understand.

English Translations

Don’t seek to cut the root of phenomena:
Cut the root of mind.
If you cut the root of the mind,
You’ll know one thing which resolves all.
If you don’t cut the root of the mind,
You can know everything, but be forever stuck on one.

Don’t investigate the roots of things,
Investigate the root of mind!

Once the mind’s root has been found,

You’ll know one thing, yet all is thereby freed,
But if the root of mind you fail to find,
You will know everything, but nothing understand.
