These seven buddhas (Skt. saptabuddhaka; Tib. སངས་རྒྱས་བདུན་པ་, Wyl. sangs rgyas bdun pa) of the past are a bridge between two kalpas: the glorious aeon and the fortunate aeon. The first three buddhas in the list are the last buddhas of the glorious aeon and the next four buddhas are the first buddhas of the fortunate aeon.

  2. Śikhin (Skt.; Tib. གཙུག་ཏོར་ཅན་ , Wyl. gtsug tor can), the 999th buddha of the glorious aeon
  3. Viśvabhū (Skt.; Tib. ཐམས་ཅད་སྐྱོབས་ , Wyl. thams cad skyobs), the 1,000th and final buddha of the glorious aeon.
  4. Krakucchanda (Skt. ; Tib. འཁོར་འཇིག་ , Wyl. 'khor 'jig), the first buddha of the fortunate aeon.
  5. Kanakamuni (Skt.; Tib. གསེར་ཐུབ་ , Wyl. gser thub), the second buddha of the fortunate aeon.
  6. Kāśyapa (Skt.; Tib. འོད་སྲུང་, Wyl. 'od srung), the third buddha of the fortunate aeron.
  7. Śākyamuni (Skt.; Tib. ཤཱ་ཀྱ་ཐུབ་པ་ , Wyl. shA kya thub pa), the fourth and present Buddha of the fortunate aeon.
