Teachers of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö (1893-1959)

According to Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö studied with about eighty masters from all the different traditions of Tibetan Buddhism (in alphabetical order):

  1. Adzom Drukpa Drodul Pawo Dorje (Longchen Nyingtik, Gongpa Zangthal, Lama Yangtik transmissions, and the introduction to Trekchö meditation)
  2. Amdo Geshe Jampal Rolwé Lodrö (many tantric transmissions of the Gelug school)
  3. Chatral Sangye Dorje (termas of Sera Khandro)
  4. Dilgo Khyentse
  5. Dodrupchen Jikmé Tenpé Nyima (transmission of Rigdzin Düpa)
  6. Gatön Ngawang Lekpa (Lamdré Lopshé, Vajrabhairava, and Mahakala cycles)
  7. Gyurme Pema Namgyal, the Fourth Shechen Gyaltsap (transmissions of Changter, Minling ter, Damngak Dzö and many other teachings)
  8. Gyurme Tsewang Gyatso
  9. Jamyang Loter Wangpo
