The three ancestral religious kings (mé wön nam sum [Tib.]) - Songtsen Gampo, Trisong Detsen, and Tri Ralpachen. The most famous of Tibet's ancient kings, who made the greatest contribution to establishing the teachings of the Buddha in Tibet. They are said to have been emanations of the Lords of the Three Families.
