The three close-mindfulnesses (Tib. དྲན་པ་ཉེ་བར་བཞག་པ་གསུམ་, drenpa nyewar shyakpa sum, Wyl. dran pa nye bar bzhag pa gsum) are:

  • 1. To avoid attachment towards those who listen respectfully. (Tib. གདུལ་བྱ་གུས་པས་ཉན་པ་ལ་ཆག་པ་, Wyl. gdul bya gus pas nyan pa la chag pa)
  • 2. To avoid hatred towards those who do not listen respectfully. (Tib. གུས་པས་མི་ཉན་པ་ལ་སྡང་བ་, Wyl. gus pas mi myan pa la sdang ba)
  • 3. To avoid indifference towards those who do neither. (Tib. འདྲེས་མར་འཇུག་པ་ལ་གཉིས་ཀ་མིན་པ་, Wyl. dres mar ‘jug pa la gnyis ka min pa) [1]
