Tokden Tutop Nyima was born in 1965 and joined Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong at the age of nine. After spending eight years in the monastery school, at eighteen he received the full ordination vows from H.E. 8th Dorzong Rinpoche. He received teachings and empowerments from his root guru Gyalwa Dokhampa 8th Khamtrul Rinpoche, Kyabgön 8th Adeu Rinpoche and many other realized masters. In 1992 he entered the Retreat Centre where he stayed for sixteen years of intensive meditation practice.

In 2007 Khamtrul Rinpoche bestowed on him the yogi attire and he joined the select group of tokdens for which the lineage is famous. He now acts as vajra master in all the grand ceremonies at the monastery. Since 2010 he has travelled extensively in Asia with Khamtrul Rinpoche. In May 2014 he visited Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s Nunnery in Nepal to pass on some spiritual instructions and transmissions achieved in his years of practice.
