The Udana, the third text in the Khuddaka Nikaya in the Pali Canon, offers a rich collection of eighty short suttas arranged in eight vaggas, or chapters, each of which culminates in a short verse uttered by the Buddha. One of the short suttas, the Tittha Sutta, tells the well-known story of the blind men and the elephant.

The content of the Udanavarga in the Sanskrit Canon has similar content to that in the Udana and also the Dhammapada of the Pali Canon.
