Zahor (Tib ཟ་ཧོར་, Wyl. za hor) - An ancient kingdom thought to be located near the place known today as Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, northern India. This kingdom is associated with the early Tantra transmissions, also home of Shantarakshita. Some have suggested that Zahor is a corruption of the Persian word Śahor, which means simply 'city', or that it is a degeneration of an Indian word and refers to the state of Bengal.
