Butön Rinchen Drup

Butön Rinchen Drup (bu ston rin chen grub) (1290-1364) - A great scholar who compiled the buddhist canon (Kangyur). His lineage is called Shalupa after the name of the place where he mostly resided, Shalu, near Shigatse in central Tibet. His personal writings include a celebrated history of Buddhism.
