Hva Shang, meaning ‘a Chinese monk’, was sent by Emperor T’ai-tsung of China with an elegently worded letter to invite the [[Sixteen Arhats]] to China. Hva Shang, meaning ‘a Chinese monk’, was sent by Emperor T’ai-tsung of China with an elegently worded letter to invite the Sixteen Arhats to China.
