There are two different sets of ten powers, those of a buddha and those of a bodhisattva. The ten powers of a bodhisattva (Skt. daśa-bodhisattva-bala; Tib. བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་སྟོབས་བཅུ།, Wyl. byang chub sems dpa’i stobs) are:
- Power of reflection (Skt. āśayabala; Tib. བསམ་པའི་སྟོབས།, Wyl. bsam pa’i stobs)
- Power of superior aspiration (Skt. adhyāśayabala; Tib. ལྷག་བསམ་པའི་སྟོབས།, Wyl. lhag bsam pa’i stobs)
- Power of application (Skt. prayogabala; Tib. སྦྱོར་བའི་སྟོབས།, Wyl. sbyor ba’i stobs)
- Power of wisdom (Skt. prajñābala/jñānabala; Tib. ཤེས་རབ་/ ཡེ་ཤེས་སྟོབས། , Wyl. shes rab/ye shes stobs)
- Power of their vow (Skt. praṇidhānabala; Tib. སྨོན་ལམ་གྱི་སྟོབས། , Wyl. smon lam gyi stobs)
