Neten Chokling Pema Gyurme (gnas brtan mchog gling padma 'gyur med) - The incarnation of Neten Ngedön Drubpe Dorje, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa's incarnation at Neten. He was recognized by Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. He studied extensively with Jamyang Khyentse and with Palpung Situ Pema Wangchok Gyalpo. He was the father of Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche, Khyentse Yeshe and Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. He was responsible for establishing the refugee settlement in Bir and established the new Chokling Monastery there.

At the age of 47 he had an accident on the road from Delhi and died instantly from a skull fracture. Later he revived, took a long breath and then passed away. It was on the 19th day of the twelfth month. Unknown to anyone, he had left a letter of advice. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Khamtrul Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Dzongnor Rinpoche and others were invited to come and perform the cremation ceremonies. A golden stupa, studded with jewels and decorated with many precious metals was made in his memory. It contains his relics and was placed in the temple in Bir.
