Tulku Lhatop aka Lhachen Tobden, Lhachen Tobkyi Gyalpo (Tib. ལྷ་ཆེན་སྟོབས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་, Wyl. lha chen stobs kyi rgyal po) (1884-1942) was a son of Dudjom Lingpa and of Akyabza Kalzang Drönma[1]. He became a main Dudjom Tersar lineage holders.
Birth, Family, Recognition
Tulku Lhatop was born in 1884 when his father was 50.
In 1883, Dakini Dewé Jungné, Source of Bliss, appeared to Dudjom Lingpa and gave him several prophecies including the following one[2]:
- Next year Namkhé Nyingpo, Essence of Space will arrive as your son— He will act for the sake of the doctrine and beings.

Training
In 1893, when he was 9 years old, Tulku Lhatop was brought by his father Dudjom Lingpa to Taktsé Samdrup Monastery and recognized as a reincarnation of Shyichen Tulku Rinpoche[4]. Dudjom Lingpa recounts this event in his outer autobiography[5]:
- On the thirteenth day of the first autumn month, my young son [Tulku] Lhatop went to a large monastic community named Taktsé Samdrup Monastery, which upholds the tradition of pal Gyalwa Katok Monastery. He was recognized as a reincarnation of the incomparable Zhichen Tulku Rinpoche and enthroned on a tall golden throne. When that concluded, I returned home and bestowed, to their completion, many empowerments and scriptural transmissions upon those students of mine who were foretold of in the scriptures of Pema [Guru Rinpoche].
Tulku Lhatop was also recognised as an incarnation of Namkhé Nyingpo Trulwé Rolgar.
