Landscape around Dzagyal Monastery

Dzagyal Monastery was founded by Patrul Rinpoche, in Dzachukha area. Later, it became the home of Kunzang Dechen Dorje (Pema Kunzang), and of Patrul Namkha Jikmé, a son of Dudjom Lingpa who came twice there.

In 1878, Khyentse Tulku Dzamling Wangyal, son of Dudjom Lingpa, went with his father to Dzagyal Monastery to receive teachings from Kunzang Dechen Dorje (Pema Kunzang).
